2nd  Wolf Pack (Llandudno) -198 laps

TEAM WALES TAKE A POUNDING AT SHEFFIELD!
Coastal Raceways banger drivers put on a brave display whilst heavily outnumbered at Sheffileld Speedway on Sunday 13th May at the annual Battle of Britain race meeting for Unlimited Bangers. A very strong England Team combined forces with the mighty Team Stinkbridge on the day to devastating effect, which resulted in our lads together with an under-subscribed Scottish team taking home some seriously wrecked motors. Well done to all involved for a hugely brave performance which the crowd loved!

Update 27.04.12

*IMPORTANT NEWS* SUNDAYS MEETING POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER
COASTAL RACEWAY REGRETS TO ANNOUNCE THAT THE PATSHIFTER RACE MEETING SCHEDULED FOR THIS SUNDAY 29TH APRIL HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO A LATER DATE DUE TO UNSUITABLE CONDITIONS AT THE TRACK FOLLOWING TO THE RECENT SUSTAINED POOR WEATHER. WE APOLOGISE TO ALL WHO WERE LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS MEETING - A NEW DATE FOR THIS FIXTURE WILL BE ANNOUNCED SHORTLY. THE PATSHIFTER WILL BE BACK BIGGER AND BETTER THAN BEFORE! WATCH THIS SPACE -  DETAILS WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN THE COMING DAYS.

CRAZY 5 RULE AMENDMENTS
A few additional rules have been put in place regarding build rules for the May Crazy 5. They are as follows:
1. All glass and lights must be removed, with the exception of a single functioning brake light which must be retained, or added to the rear of the vehicle. This can be either a standard rear light cluster (one only), a standard rear window brake light (rear window MUST be completely removed), or an after-market red ‘fog lamp’ installed in the rear window aperture.
2.  If at all possible, the tow eye should be retained at the front of the vehicle to aid recovery of the vehicle in the event of a breakdown.
3.  No off road or 'M&S' style tyres are permitted - this includes road legal ones!
If any drivers have questions regarding these changes, please email info@coastalraceway.co.uk

We have rumours of a very healthy number of non-contact new builds making their debut for the opening track day for our new formula lineup of Production Rods, GT Rods and Super Rods, plus we also have the prospect of an addition to the official lineup in the form of PRE 70's BANGERS, as drivers attending the brilliant looking STAN WOODS MEMORIAL meeting at Stoke the night before have officially been invited to straighten out, fix up, and then bring along their cars for an extra crash on the dirt with us on Sunday! We also have a HUGE booking list for 1600 Push & Spin, currently into the mid 20's and counting, plus of course the Patshifter for 1400 Bangers and the Juniors in action. Put all this together on a newly surfaced track and we have a very promising meeting on our hands! Scrutineering from 10am, Racing is scheduled to start at 12 noon.

Update 09.04.12

PRE 70 BANGERS INVITED TO COME ALONG FOR A CRASH ON SUN APRIL 29TH!!
We have some potentially interesting news for the Patshifter meeting on Sun April 29th. As some may be aware, there is a HUGE meeting the evening before at Chesterton Raceway in Stoke in memory of Banger Racing legend 513 Stan 'The Man' Woods, who sadly passed away last year.  Following discussions with Paul Woods, Stan's son, and Steve Rees at Startrax, we have been given the all-clear to offer drivers the chance to make a weekend of it and straighten out their Pre-70 cars and bring them along to Coastal for an extra crash on the dirt on Sunday the 29th! So with the 1400cc Patshifter,  our new-look on-contact lineup making their debut,  plus 1600 and Jnr Push & Spin in action, and now the possibility of some Pre 70 Bangers making an appearance, its looking like the opening track - based date of 2012 will be a good one!
Drivers can book in by emailing us at info@coastalraceway.co.uk

More details in the coming days!

IMPORTANT!! ALL MEMBERS NEED TO READ THIS!
Here are a few important developments for the coming season! Firstly, we have decided to decrease the season membership for 2012 from £30 to £25. Members who have already paid £30 will have £5 returned to them. This means it is now DEFINITELY cheaper to race 2012 as a member rather than on a day licence. Like previous years, only club members will be entered into the 2012 points championship (day drivers will not), and as an extra incentive, members will also gain free entry to the 2012 Presentation Night at the end of the season. We would like to urge all drivers planning to renew their memberships to do so asap.
AGM MEETING THURS 26TH APRIL.
There is an official AGM meeting set up for Thursday 26th April, at the Queens Arms Pub, Rhyl, starting at 8pm where the 2012 Club Committee will be officially decided upon. 2012 members who have paid membership will be able to attend and give their input.
There are a few positive developments happening behind the scenes that we hope will lead to a much more positive drive forward for the club in 2012. To ensure this this happens, we need members to show their support now !

For those of you that missed Sundays action at Belle Vue Stadium, Manchester, our lads were part of a superb days wrecking and racing under the blazing sun for the annual England V Wales head to head and King of the North event for 2 Ltr bangers. The head to head race was first up, and was an absolute cracker. Although Team Wales ultimately lost on points, Captain fantastic 353 Dan Buckley more than made up for it by winning the race with a fine drive, ensuring that not all the silverware stayed the English side of the border. Our lads continued to shine throughout the day, with 79 Bobby Balls, 541 Ant Checketts and 221 Tom Martin having particularly strong performances. Thanks indeed to Steve Rees and Startrax for putting on a great days racing!

Update 18.01.12

2012 PROVISIONAL FIXTURES AND BUILD RULES NOW ONLINE!
The wait is finally over! The following Info for the 2012 season is now online:
- The Provisional 2012 Fixture List
- 2012 Build Rules, available for download from the Driver Info section. (Fully up-to-date and featuring the new 2012 Race Formula lineup.)
- 2012 Club Membership Form, available for download from the Driver Info section.
- An updated Race Formulas page, featuring the all-new non-contact  line-up for 2012.

NEW NAMES FOR NON-CONTACT CLASSES IN 2012 REVEALED!
Following the revised format for Class racing in 2012, We have decided to re-name the new line-up of Non-Contact Classes racing in 2012. Controversial? Possibly, but we feel the new names for our new our non-contact formula lineup more closely captures the direction we feel the Club is driving towards as we become more closely associated to the wider Oval Racing scene.
The new names are as follows:

JUNIORS
- The Junior non-contact formula's title remains essentially the same!
PRODUCTION RODS -
The budget up-to 1500cc formula replacing Classes 1,2,4&5.
GT RODS -
The new name for Class 6!
SUPER RODS -
Class 3 & 7 will integrate to create this new formula!
Read more in the new updated Race Formulas page!

We hope you like them! While of course there may be a 'breaking in period' for these formulas, we feel that in order for non contact racing to return to its former strength at Coastal, changes had to be made. it was becoming increasingly plain in recent seasons that the traditional system of Class racing was beginning to fail - We hope the new, simpler lineup of race classes should set the stage for a more competitive points championship for our racers, which will in turn encourage growth in car numbers. Lets hope it works!

COMING SOON - SPONSORSHIP INFO
Look out for the next web update, where we will be revealing details & costings for  sponsorship packages available at the track in 2012.  It's no secret that Coastal Raceway runs on a tight budget - why not help the club run in 2012, and benefit from advertising at the track in the process! Details to follow.

Update 28.10.11

RACING IN 2012 : SPONSORSHIP REQUEST & AGM MEETING OVERVIEW
Thanks to all members who attended yesterdays AGM meeting. To those of you who didnt attend, here is a rundown of the main topic discussed:

MAIN SPONSORS NEEDED FOR 2012 SEASON
For racing at Coastal to be guaranteed for the 2012 season and beyond, the club requires additional sponsors for the 2012 season. The club can offer potential new sponsors one or more of the following:
- Permanent advertising Banner at the track for the 2012 season
- Advertising space in the 2012 Race Programmer (available at all meetings)
- Advertising space on the reverse side of Coastal Raceway flyers
- Race / Event sponsorship - have a title race or event named after your company.
For additional info, or to pledge interest in sponsoring the club in 2012, please email info@coastalraceway.co.uk

SHORTER SEASON IN 2012
The club proposes to run a shorter season in 2012, having fewer, but bigger, race meetings in an attempt to 'cut out' the less well subscribed (and financially unprofitable) meetings from the 2012 season. The club proposes a season 8-10 meetings long. The exact number is still to be finalised.

GRASSTRACK CLASS CHANGES FOR 2012
At the AGM last night the club announced plans for simplifying the structure of the Grasstrack Classes that race at Coastal. Put simply, we currently have too many Grasstrack classes which are low in car numbers making racing uncompetitive. The plan is to simplify the classes into 2 Junior Classes and 3 Adult Classes. More details including amended build rules will be added in due course, but here is the basic proposal:
JUNIORS
No change. Maintain the current Nov. Juniors and Juniors classes.
ADULTS
Streamline the current 7 Classes into 3 more competitive categories:
1. A Budget/Production Class with limited modifications allowed for fwd or rwd cars up to 1500cc with Honda Civics not permitted.
2. A FWD Class for cars 1500cc and over with Modifications permitted. (replacing Class 6)
3. A 'Supers' Class for RWD, 4WD and Mid Engined machines 1500cc and over with modifications permitted (replacing Class 3 and 7)
More details to follow!

PUSH & SPIN CHANGES
The club has proposed a change to the list of cars disqualified from use in the 1600cc Push & Spin Class. For 2012, Bluebirds will be permitted, while The Vauxhall Vectra will no longer to allowed. Ford Mondeos will continue to be disqualified from use.

JNR PUSH & SPIN
Following good support in 2011, The club proposes to make Jnr Push & Spin a regular class racing at every track-based meeting in 2012.
